Description:

Responsible for prospect cultivation and gift solicitation of individuals in assigned regional markets in support of college priorities with the goal of maximizing financial support for the College.

Duties:

*Responsible for soliciting gifts of $1,000 and higher from alumni and non-alumni friends.

*Manage a portfolio of 200 to 225 prospective donors.  Will be expected to identify, qualify, solicit and steward these very important alumni and friends of the college.

*Expected to exceed prior years dollars raised from major gifts portfolio by 10%.

*Required to generate a minimum of 30 major gift proposals annually.  At Senior Development Officer level major gift is defined as $25,000+gift/pledge.

*Monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.

*Embrace the principal of "moves management" and orchestrates all activities designed to build and maintain long-term donor relationships.

*Conduct a minimum of 240 personal face-to-face visits per year with donors with the intent of soliciting them for membership in appropriate giving society or to make a gift to capital and endowment campaigns.

*Routinely and appropriately encourage donors to consider the benefits of including Loras College in their estate plans.  Assist in coordination of specific programs to include donor recognition events, distinguished lecture series, etc.

*Expected to meet and exceed fundraising goals as set forth by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

*Work effectively with the Alumni Department on mutually beneficial programs.

*Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.

*Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university).

Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising or an equivalent client-relationship management sales environment.  Thorough knowledge of the principles of donor stewardship in higher education.

Self-starter.  Self-motivated.  Strong interpersonal relationship and organizational skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Collegial, collaborative style.  Highly organized with the ability to multi-task effectively.  Good decision making skills, tactful, good listener.  Knowledge of fundraising.
